Colchester took on Chelmsford in their second match in the EACF Handicap League on 15th May 26.
The Colchester team for this match included Kev Croot, Hugh Brown, Patricia Drinkwater and Gill Glen.
In the doubles after two close games the match was tied one all.
Colchester moved ahead in the first round of singles winning 3-1 which proved at the end of the day to be the deciding round.
In the next two rounds the matches were even so Colchester led 8-6 going into the last round.
Chelmsford won the first two games to make it 8 all but Colchester came back to win the last two to take the match 10-8
