SC Winter League Rules

Real-time league positions can be found here

Competition Format:

• The SC competition will start once the courts are converted to their winter format, expected in early November.

• Within each block, players will play one game against all others (I.e. not best of three).

• Although SC is usually timed, please play to complete a 14-point game.

• The result will be based on games won. If there are ties, block positions will be determined by net points.

• Games must be completed by 21st February to give time for the knock-out.

• The winner of a block will play the runner of the other block in a knock-out semi-final. Final to be played by the end of March.

• Players must have an official SC handicap card. AC handicaps are used as an initial basis using the CE conversion table.

• Players should arrange their own games, booking courts in advance. Please avoid booking both courts for this competition; double-bank if necessary.

• Please note your final point score before removing clips.

• Games should be recorded on your SC handicap card.

• Results must be recorded on the SC competition sheets in the Clubhouse and emailed to cccresults@gmail.com with a copy to Ian Cumming. Please record your own points only in the horizontal row.

Reminders:

SC is a 14 point game, so only 6 hoops and the peg for each ball.

Wiring lifts:  this law differs radically from AC. In SC a wiring lift can be claimed and occurs at the start of your turn, when either of your balls, that has been positioned by your opponent, is unable to hit all parts of its partner. Otherwise AC Laws apply.
