Taking Part

For National Croquet week we are staging a Have-a-Go Tea and Cakes afternoon on Thursday 23rd May

Kids are not only welcomed, they are positively encouraged.

We’ll supply all the equipment. All that is needed is a pair of flat-soled shoes (trainers are ideal) and a healthy appetite for cake!

We’re always keen to meet new players and to introduce them to croquet.  Whether you’re an absolute novice or if you’ve played before in the back garden, we have open days and introductory courses to suit you.

Come along to one of our Club Days either on Monday or Thursday afternoon when there will always be a friendly face ready to welcome you to the club and the game. All you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes. We have four lawns, a stock of mallets and other equipment for you to try, and we’ll give you the basic instruction you’ll need.

We have Sunday afternoon sessions, where family and friends are invited to join members, these are proving a great success, and it’s good to see so many people new to the game enjoying play.

We also have monthly club lunches and an annual dinner and prize giving.
Apart from mowing, all maintenance, catering, and housekeeping is by members who volunteer so it is an excellent opportunity to become part of an active social community as well as learning to play croquet.
Members can easily book lawns using our on-line lawn booking facility
